LIFE BALANCING

Hi. I'm Christina, an American Yogi living in the UK.

I LOVE helping people fin their inner teacher. I wanna guide students towards finding their own flow, balance & strength - both the inner & outer kind. My life hasn't always been smooth sailing.  But now that I've passed the 50 mark, I understand each rock in my path was a learning opportunity.  I've studied, trained & travelled extensively and have a real passion for using YOGA tools for everyday living & inspire you to create a beautiful life you wont need to run away to heal.  We practice regularly and soon it becomes second nature.  I juggle the adventures of a full & fruitful life and YOGA alsways anchors me. Are you feeling stuck? Is your nervous system overwhelmed? Lonely? Thirsty for my creativity and calm? Lets see if I can help.

Background: I first fell upon yoga 1992 when I was in university studying the mind and became fascinated with psychology & eastern philosophies. This was incredibly helpful as I was also dealing with grief -  2 of my dearest loved ones had died suddenly. Yoga helped me see life through different perspectives -It reduced my suffering - and inspired me to create the kind of extradorinaiy life that we all deserve. Fast forward 25 years and grief hit me again. No matter what age we are, when we lose our parents & friends, its painful.  I ride the waves of all the stages of it now and have a lot of coping tips to share if you're in need.

Physically: I was always quite sporty so it was a natural evolution to incorporate yoga asanas into my exercise. I still enjoy mountain biking, dancing and sailing etc - but I’ll often put on my yogi goggles so I enjoy them even more & avoid injuries. I've had a couple injuries/strains and when I look back, my injuries have always happened when I wasn't being mindful.

Training: I have a gymnastics background and taught for much of my youth at the YMCA.  I worked for one of the top ad agencies in Boston but always looked forward to my yoga with coach; Baron Baptise. My fast paced work life was so exciting but I was often innately drawn to the contrast to bring me back to my best alignment of my authentic self...with the essence of YOGA.    I moved to England in 2000 and traded my city career for a calmer paced country life which led me to 4 years training  with British Wheel of Yoga (the U.K.’s highest governing body for teachers).  I gave birth to 2 sons during these training years so I have a really in depth/first hand knowledge of pregnancy modifications. I had the privilege of being taught by the late TKV Desikachar at the Krishnamacharya Mandiram in Chennai, India. I’ve also trained in Kerala, India at the Sivananda Ashram.  I enjoy trying new classes wherever I am in my travels.  I’m alway learning - I like reading the work of Krishnamurti, Deepak Chopra, and Thich Nhat Hhan but I find some of life’s lessons in the most random settings - So I encourage my students to look beyond the mat. I’ve even had a rock-n-roll Yoga session in NYC - where we explored replacing the outside music with the deep discovery our inner tranquility!
